Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) offers internships to young, unemployed South African graduates in the fields of Human Resources (HR), Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development (OD), and Employee Relations. The internship aims to provide practical experience and equip candidates to become competitive in the job market. The role is for a 24-month contract where interns will gain exposure to various HR functions and contribute to the overall development of the university.

Responsibilities

• Assist with HR administration and support the HR department
• Respond to HR-related queries
• Organize and schedule meetings
• Take minutes and type letters, memos, and reports
• Handle filing, travel logistics, and accommodation bookings
• Rotate across different HR functions for exposure
• Contribute to the development of SMU and improve institutional culture
• Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• No prior experience required
• Must be a South African citizen
• A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology,Organisational Development,Employee Relations Or equivalent qualification (attach transcript)
